Why join our engineering team?

We’re a small, agile team

We are currently a small team of engineers. We are actively hiring, and on the path to double our engineering strength in 2023 (that’s where you come in). As part of a closely knit team located in Bengaluru, we have plenty of visibility into each other’s work and broad exposure to all aspects of the business, meaning we can act fast with little overhead.

We’re here to disrupt

We are always exploring new ideas, technologies and methods which help us to achieve more and achieve better. This means we’re building a lot of tech from scratch, and need to think from first principles to identify ways of solving problems from the ground up.

You’ll learn fast

Working in a small team means having the opportunity to contribute across all the tech we build at 60dB. When challenges arise, we work as a team to find a solution. You’ll quickly broaden your expertise across a wide variety of engineering problems that you might not otherwise come across at a larger company. For example, you’ll be working across our data collection platform – backend and frontend –, user-facing apps, cloud infrastructure and more, mastering different technologies for each.

What kind of work can you expect to contribute to?

Data is integral to our work at 60dB. We are building a unified platform in-house which caters to our core business, and to our extensive network of researchers.

We are continuously developing data products to be used by our customers and other external stakeholders. This includes building and maintaining web applications which offer interactive data dashboards to help our customers better understand their insights.

We’re also researching how we can apply AI to extract insights from our survey data to make our research process even more efficient.

You can bet this will be a tech for good job. We care about the people we listen to and are working to make the world a better place.

Let’s talk languages

We’re a multilingual team (in more ways than one). We use Python, Ruby On Rails for backend services, TypeScript with React for the frontend, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to run our applications.

Who are we looking for?

Strong software engineering skills aren’t all we’re after. As a rapidly growing company, we’re looking for lateral thinkers to join us in shaping the company in its next phase of strategic growth. We’re looking for developers that are good at researching and prototyping brand new tech to solve problems. If you’re self-driven, have a growth mindset and looking at a tech for good job, this might be just the company for you.

If you need any more convincing…

60dB offers a competitive salary and benefits package and the opportunity to work in a flexible, fun and supportive environment. The salary range will be adjusted according to costs of living in our country offices.

We have an unlimited leave policy and 12 monthly recharge days on the first Friday of each month. We are a globally distributed team and give team members opportunities to cross pollinate and visit our different offices. You would be primarily based in our Bengaluru office in a modern coworking space (we especially love the views from the rooftop), and will have the opportunity to get involved in monthly socials with the rest of the team.
